Equis is a set of organizations (including Equis Research, Equis Institute, and EquisLabs) working to create a better understanding of Latinos, innovate new approaches to reach and engage them, and invest in the leadership and infrastructure for long-term change and increased engagement.
Since 2019, we have served as a hub for Latino research and innovation, leaning into the complexities of Latino voters in the United States, ensuring they get the sophistication of treatment and level of attention that matches their critical role in the electorate. Equis is also committed to developing Latino leaders across the progressive space, serving as a convener of organizations and individuals leading Hispanic-focused programs. The scope of our work is designed to engage Latinos in multiple arenas because we believe that this moment requires a complete rethinking of how we engage Latinos.
POSITION SUMMARY
The People, Talent and Culture (PTC) Coordinator supports PTC processes. This role coordinates onboarding, and administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees, representatives and insurance providers. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The Coordinator makes that certain plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Supports the recruitment process which may include posting open roles and other support activities
- Onboarding and Offboarding scheduling, coordination and maintenance
- Calendar planning and scheduling support
- New Hire tracking, maintenance, and follow-up
- Supports day-to-day workflow of the PTC department
- PTC related event planning and coordination
- Administrative support for the department.
- Ad-hoc HR projects and tasks may be assigned by the PTC Director
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of related work experience
- Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Outstanding collaboration skills with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Passion for Latino communities, and the issues that most affect us
- Interest in progressive organizations within a start-up environment
- Experience working for non-profit organizations that concentrate on community organizing or campaign-like field work is a plus
LOCATION
Remote (USA), with occasional domestic travel depending on role.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is a fully remote (USA only), exempt, full-time position with occasional domestic travel and a competitive salary of $75,000- 90,000 per year, based on experience and geography. This salary range represents a good faith estimate of what Equis may pay for this position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as budget availability and commensurate with the selected candidates’ experience.
