Jobs RemoteWork Source Does Not Post

Comparing apples to oranges

“Remote-only job” isn’t the same as a “flexible job”

What does “remote-only” mean?

When we say we post remote-only jobs, we mean it. We are so selective that many jobs claiming to be “remote” positions don’t make it onto our job board. If you’re wondering what kinds of jobs RemoteWork Source carefully screens out, here are a few examples of jobs not allowed, and why.*

(* Please note that these example jobs are not scams; they simply don’t meet our criteria for job seekers who want true remote-only employment.)

Example 1:

“We are currently hiring for a Business Development Representative to support our sales team. We are looking for candidates that have a strong desire to start and/or expand their sales career with Lightning Bolt Solutions.  Must have excellent interpersonal skills, technical abilities, and phone skills….

What We Offer
  • This is an entry level position that offers a competitive salary and benefits including 401K Plan, Health Insurance, Dental Plan, and Stock Options
  • An excellent working environment that fosters creativity

  • The opportunity to make a real difference by solving some challenging problems affecting our healthcare system today”

NOTE: At least three days out of the work week are spent somewhere other than home, so we could not include this otherwise excellent job.

Example 2:

“In need of a clinical pharmacy manager that is reliable and can work from home. You will be required to be on the road to visit the nursing home sites and do chart reviews. Requirements/duties are as follows:

NOTE: Although it is called “home-based,” not a whole lot of time is spent at home. (Clearly, there are occasions when employees have to leave their homes. A few hours a week onsite, an occasional client visit, or even one week a year for training is acceptable.)

Example 3:

“The CBCO group is seeking an Implementation Project Manager who will manage and coordinate the implementation of products and services for new clients as well as existing clients with comprehensive and/or complex cash management solutions. NOTE: An excellent flex job, but working from home is not guaranteed.
