Description

At Wisetack, we’re building financially-responsible consumer lending products that help service-based businesses thrive.
Founded in 2018 by a team of experienced fintech veterans whose prior experience includes PayPal, LinkedIn, Lending Club, Affirm, Amazon, and other leading companies, Wisetack is a well-funded early stage startup with strong early customer traction. We’re backed by leading VCs, including Insight Partners, Greylock, and Bain Capital Ventures, investors in Airbnb, LinkedIn, Instagram, Dropbox, and many more.
We raised a $45M Series B last year and since then, we've invested in our people and technology and signed a slew of new partnerships. This is a fun stage in any company's lifecycle where we've got the core foundation built, a healthy growth rate, and a clear path to success, but you'd still be joining early enough to help shape the future of the company.
Business Insider recently named us one of the 70 most promising startups changing the world of finance and LendIt just named us as the winner in the Best Emerging Lending Platform category for their Fintech Industry Awards. The external recognition is great, but we're equally -- if not more -- happy with the recognition from our customers. Our current NPS rating is a sky-high 78. We're proud that we're building a product that customers love.
The role
We're looking for a dynamic and creative designer to join our Product and Design team at Wisetack, where we're working to build financial products that empower our customers. As our steward for Wisetack Design, you will help to build holistic and effective experiences for our merchant and consumer products and support our Marketing team with assets to drive customer acquisition.
As a Product & Visual Designer you will have a unique opportunity in a small fast-growing startup to flex different creative muscles across product, marketing and brand design. This position will also work with the cross-functional leadership team and support any new creative opportunities that may arise as the business scales.
The right person will be passionate about creativity, motivated by data, and comfortable in a fast paced changing environment. You aren't afraid to try something new and will guide teams towards the best possible design and UX outcomes through innovation and iteration.

What you'll be doing

    • Own projects and drive the product UI/UX from conception to launch, define problems & goals, map user flows, prototype interactions in partnership with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders.
    • Conduct user research to collect qualitative and quantitative data to help guide decisions.
    • Develop creative assets to support Marketing and Brand—campaigns, emails, websites, presentations—in collaboration with the Marketing team.
    • Manage, develop, and expand the design systems and brand identity.
    • Skills and knowledge in motion graphics a plus.

Experience

    • 4+ years of design experience and a high quality portfolio of relevant design work spanning both visual design and product UX
    • Proficiency in the formal elements of design including color, typography, layout, iconography, and desktop/mobile UI.
    • Experience representing your work, process, and decisions to cross-functional stakeholders across multiple projects, that include interaction and visual design artifacts, multiple iterations, and high-fidelity prototypes.
    • You are curious, hardworking, self-starting, and highly customer-oriented. Ideally, you’ve already been a designer at an early stage startup or have done freelance work with one.
