Controller – Remote – $200,000 – $246,000

Without the strength of our accounting team, we wouldn’t be able to offer the industry-leading service we’re known for. We’re seeking an experienced accountant to oversee this team in the role of controller. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as an accountant, preferably in a senior role. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, you will make it your mission to streamline our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. You will produce thorough financial status reports for senior management to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.

Responsibilities

• • Lead the accounting organization and elevate it to the caliber of an enterprise SaaS company.
  • Design, build and own the monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines. Hire and build the accounting team to support the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Oversee and support the accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
  • Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development.
  • Be subject matter expert in key technical accounting pronouncements to ensure adoption of ASC 606, 340, 350, 718, 740, 326, 842.
  • Design and develop accounting policies, practices, and procedures with a strong internal control framework, especially around O2C, P2P, Payroll, and Financial Accounting and Reporting.
  • Manage all external financial reporting to investors and financial institutions.
  • Serve as a key resource and advisor to company management around initiatives, activities, or processes with an impact on the financial well-being of the business. Lead the company through audit readiness and deliver its first audit (12/31/2020 opening balance sheet audit with full scale 2021 and 2022 audits).

Requirements

• • Bachelor’s degree in business, with an accounting emphasis
  • 10+ years of proven accounting experience
  • Expert in NetSuite
  • 5+ years experience as a senior-level accounting manager
  • Series C to E SaaS company growth experience
  • People manager with the ability to develop and grow an early-stage accounting team
  • Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis
  • Knowledgeable in  federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
  • Ability to partner closely with G&A, S&M, and R&D teams to achieve company goals
  • CPA required (must be active)
  • Big 4 is a plus

CaptivateIQ takes a market-based approach to pay, and the base salary range for this job posting shows the minimum and maximum target starting base salary across all US locations. The successful candidate’s starting base salary will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related skills, relevant experience, education, work location, market conditions, and other factors. This range may be modified in the future. Certain positions may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and other benefits.
